Here in April, the popular news and events seem to focus on making an impact on one day, at one event, with one action. But we all know making a real difference takes time, effort, consistency and community.
We at Green Wheaton were delighted to see such a tremendous turnout at the joint April networking / happy hour with Silver Spring Green. Approximately 45 attendees heard from Kelly Blynn, with Communities For Transit, about the progress and opportunities in Maryland and the region regarding Bus Rapid Transit and more effective options to reduce vehicular congestion and improve public transit. Red Maple restaurant was an outstanding venue and we appreciated their generosity in hosting. We look forward to the continued community commitment to sustainability, in all it’s forms, not just on Earth Day, not just in Earth Month, but rather Every Day, Every Month.
We’ll continue to work towards a Green Wheaton and hope you’ll join us. We look forward to seeing you at some of the activities listed on the Events Calendar and at our upcoming Green Drinks events.
